MAKING IT OUR OWN

We've been out west now for about six months. It has not been the hardest but it hasent been the easiest either, i truly love it here every day it just reminds me of california, sometimes i dont know if thats good or bad lol (i tend to get homesick once in a while ) . I guess the hardest part for me at least has been to be out here on our own, trying to fit in and finding our own group of friends to whom we can share and make memmories with. Doing things our own way and just the three of us. And dont get me wrong i love the though of starting our own traditions but its been a bitt hard to be honest. I have no clue how to make a holiday day a good day :( thankfully i didn't have to do that for xmas since we were blessed enough to go back to london and spend it there with friends and family( and of course to jen who made the wonderful xmas dinner ) Valentines well as much as i would have loved to have someone i trusted with landon to look after him, i did enjoy going out for dinner with my two handsome boys :). But now easter is aproaching and as much as i have though about it and though about it, i have no clue on what i could do or what to do.Ive never cooked a turkey in my life, but russell has always had turkey for easter so im sure he is hoping for one, but if its just us three how can we finish a WHOLE turkey by ourselfs?? We dont even finish one at dads and we are quit alot when we all get together. My family always gather together at the park for carne asada egg scavenger hunt, and just being together nieces and nephews cousins brothers sisters i mean the whole sha bang bang!! Some how we have to put some of our traditons together and make it it our own.AND teach landon the real meaning of it, that it realy isnt all about the bunny and choc although it is nice to enjoy every piece of them :) So hopefully between now and then i can get inspired, and will be able to pull it off. Its so hard to be away from friends and family and starting out on your own, i mean alot of people do it, idk how but they do, so cheers to all you who have done it, and cheers to one day ill be a super mom/spouse with great ideas that has it all together. I will blogg of how this easter day went down, of course once it has gone down and let you know how it all turned out. ladies if you have any ideas please do share :)

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

  2. Hi Virginia! I love the idea of starting your own traditions. It's wonderful when you get to be with family, but since you won't ALWAYS be able to do that, you should start your own traditions that are special to you and Russell. How about inviting some other families over for Easter dinner. And the missionaries. That way you can cook a turkey and have someone to share it with. Maybe there are other families in your ward that are also far from family and would love to do an Easter Egg Hunt together. I'm sure you will think of something fun! Happy Easter!
